The Star on Monday have a ridiculous, never gonna happen story on the back of their rag.
We put it down to football writers being bored out of their minds during the international break.
Leo Messi is FC Barcelona through and through, and the Argentine legend is currently under contract at the Camp Nou until 2018.
Nevertheless, the Star’s chief football writer David Woods believes that Messi is now ready to leave Spain to move to the Premier League.
Why? Because of money issues.
As farted in the red-top, “the four-time World Footballer of the Year is open to a move to England after falling foul of the tax authorities in Spain.”
The Star go on to claim that Messi’s “preferred option” is to move to Arsenal, however more important than the club is the player’s wage demands: £600,000 a week!
The Star claim that that eye watering sum of cash is too rich for the Gunners, Man United, Man City and Chelsea.
